International Day of Protest against Chinese Fur
The fur industry is one of the world's cruelest, and China is the source of most of the world's fur products. In the absence of any legislation or government control, animals in the Chinese fur industry are subject to the most extreme forms of abuse. Investigations of fur farms in China have exposed shocking methods of trapping, transportation, confinement and killing. The species being used include not only typical sources of fur such as rabbits, foxes, minks and raccoons, but also domestic dogs and cats, whose furs are often being deliberately mislabeled and exported as fur from other species. More than 40 million animals are killed each year for their fur.

13. Februar 2006:

This day of action is being coordinated by "Isreali Voice for Animals" on February 13, 2006 at Chinese Embassy and Consulate offices around the world. In the USA, New York City, San Francisco are covered and I am sure you will see detailed announcements about the events being planned very soon.

We need groups to take on organizing for Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and the most important location, the Embassy in Washington DC.

If anyone would like additional information, you can contact Camille at: centcom@war-online.org or you can contact the primary international organizer, Jane from Israeli Voice for Animals, at: janeart3@hotmail.com

Let's all pull together to send a unified message to the government of China that their barbarous fur trade and the skinning of live animals including dogs and cats is totally unacceptable.

In solidarity,

Int. Day of Protest Against Chinese Fur

Dear friend of animals

I am writing to you as one of the organizers of an International day of protest against the Chinese fur industry, scheduled for Monday, February 13 2006.
This is a joint initiative of individuals and organizations from several countries, including the US, France and Israel.

The date was chosen for its proximity to the beginning of the Chinese new year, in which the Chinese will be celebrating while millions of animals in China are subject to the most brutal forms of abuse.

For more information please visit out website: fur.arforum.org <fur.arforum.org/

We are trying to widen the participation in this day of protest to as many countries as possible, and would be
glad if you joined the initiative.

If you are willing to organize a vigil or a demonstration, please let us know and we will add your contact details to
the list on the website.
Please also forward this message to any organization or individual anywhere in the world who might be
interested in participating.

Thank you very much

You hear now:

'I Am The Owner Of This Coat'

I am the owner, the owner of this coat

Brown eyed, small

Without a hope,

Soon to perish, soon to cry

Just so you may wear, my fur with pride...

You may not wonder, how I feel

N' you may not know, my pain is real

But I wonder, how you live with YOU

As you live with me -

Now I'm through...

Yes I grace your neck, oh I keep you warm

And through my death, there's your careless arm -

Oh you're stroking oh, what once was alive

My heart, my bone, laid aside...

Now I'm merely, dirt and dust

Just a memory, of broken trust

Just an animal, for you to KILL

A trinket made of life, for your fashion thrill...

Oh I have no voice

Oh I have no name

Just a wretched piece of meat

Drowning in vain

Oh speak for me now

Oh please hear my plea..

Oh don't, don't, don't, don't turn your back on me...

SOLO

I am the owner, the owner of this coat
Brown eyed, small
Without a hope,
Soon to perish, so soon to cry
Just so you may wear, my fur with pride....
