Grocery Stores Say They Are Warning Customers About Mercury -- Help Us Put Them to the Test!

Dear ,

Thanks to your continued efforts, many major grocery store chains are now telling the media that they are posting signs in their stores across the country bearing the FDA's guidelines about which fish are high in mercury.

But are they telling the truth? We need your help to find out!

Take action: Tell us if your local grocery store has posted a mercury sign:

Grassroots support from people like you for this common-sense measure is a big part of the reason why the chains have started to change their tune.

Not long ago, Oceana supporters like you across the country told your grocers about your concerns related to mercury contamination in fish, and asked the grocery manager to post warning signs.

Information about mercury is only as useful as the number of people who actually see it when buying their seafood. We need to make sure they are actually posting signs that are visible to the average customer. And we need you to be our eyes!

Please visit the seafood counter of your neighborhood grocery store and let us know if they are actually posting visible warning signs!
Data on any other grocery chain is useful, too!

We need to honor the companies that follow through on their promise and blow the whistle on the ones that don't - - and the only way we can do that is with the help of people like you across the country.

Thanks for your help -- remember, if you have a question or comment, I'm at wavemaker@oceana.org !
